About Euclid

The Euclid Mathematics Contest, or Euclid for short, is a competition organized by the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo in Canada. It is primarily open to high school students worldwide. The University of Waterloo, founded in 1957, is a leading North American university, and its Faculty of Mathematics is one of the largest and most prestigious in North America.

From its humble beginnings as an obscure competition with only 300 applicants annually, Euclid has grown into a large-scale global competition held annually. Its results are a crucial factor in admissions to STEM programs at the University of Waterloo and other North American universities, and are also a prerequisite for scholarships at the University of Waterloo's Faculty of Mathematics.

*Note: For students applying to the University of Waterloo, Euclid scores are more important and persuasive than AMC (American Mathematics Competition) scores.
