Two routes to the same desk

There is no individual registration for the Euclid Mathematics Contest — every writer enters through an institution. Route one: a school with a CEMC account orders the contest from the University of Waterloo. Route two: an authorized test centre in China carries the paperwork for you. Both run on one calendar — orders open September 2026 and close March 11, 2027.

ROUTE AHow does official school ordering work?∎

The school route: portal and order

A school registers a CEMC account; from September 2026 a supervising teacher logs into the Contest Supervisor Portal and orders under “Order Contests.” The same portal later carries contest materials, results and certificates. International schools skip shipping — they print the papers from the CEMC’s Contest Material Repository.

Order costs$5.00 processing · shipping $5.00 in Canada, 15% (min $10.00) abroad
No refundsno credits or cancellations of any kind — the terms are absolute

One condition follows every writer: the contest is written at the school which ordered it, and only there. Contest-day conduct lives with the guidelines.

ROUTE BWhat if your school cannot order?∎

The test-centre route: one form, one fee

Most writers in China are not at a school with a CEMC account — they sit the paper at an authorized test centre instead. The service costs 599 RMB per participant, all-in: seat, in-person proctoring, and the materials handling that returns every paper for grading. The format is standard — individual, paper-based, in person. Eligibility runs Grade 11–12, with strong younger students and independent candidates welcome.

The paperwork is one registration form — name, grade, school — submitted with the fee; a class teacher or the desk supplies it, and the centre handles the CEMC side. The service adds its own incentives — 488 RMB for a Certificate of Distinction, 888 RMB for an honour-roll placement. These are the operator’s rewards, not CEMC awards; the official honours are on the competition page.

Five questions before the form

Q.01

Can I register at one school and write the Euclid at another?

No. The CEMC’s terms are explicit: participants may only write the contest at the school which ordered it. If your own school has no CEMC account, register where you will actually sit — an authorized test centre.

Q.02

What if the March 11, 2027 ordering deadline is missed?

The season is over. The CEMC publishes no late-ordering channel, and its terms allow no refunds, credits or cancellations of any kind. Test-centre deadlines close even earlier — six days before the official one in the 2026 cycle — so treat early March as the real wall.

Q.03

Which cities have authorized Euclid test centres in China?

Confirmed for the season: Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu and Changsha — with Hong Kong, Wuhan, Shenyang, Hefei, Fuzhou, Chongqing and Xi’an under confirmation. The roster shifts between cycles, so confirm your city before counting on it.

Q.04

What documents does a test-centre registration require?

A completed registration form — the student’s name, grade and school — obtained from the desk or a class teacher, plus the 599 RMB service fee. The centre handles the rest: school-account order, materials, proctoring, courier back for grading.

Q.05

Are the 488 RMB and 888 RMB rewards official CEMC scholarships?

No. They are incentives paid by the test-centre service — 488 RMB for a Certificate of Distinction, 888 RMB for an honour-roll placement. The CEMC’s own recognition — certificates, medals, honour rolls — is described in the competition guide.
