What this site collects

Very little, by design. This site has no user accounts, no comment system, and no on-site contact or registration forms. Reading it does not require providing any personal information. Like virtually all websites, the hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs (IP address, requested page, browser type, timestamp) for security and operations; these are used only to run and protect the site.

Cookies

The site itself sets only the minimal technical cookies WordPress needs to function. It does not run advertising trackers or sell data to anyone.

Consultations happen on WeChat

All advisor conversations run through enterprise WeChat, reached by the button or the QR code on this site. Anything you share there — your name, grade, school, contact details — is exchanged inside WeChat and governed by Tencent’s own service terms and privacy policies in addition to ours. We use information you volunteer in a consultation solely to answer your questions and arrange the services you request, such as test-centre registration or courses.

Registration and course services

If you engage the desk’s test-centre or course services, the information needed to deliver them (a student’s name, grade, school, and contest details) is collected at that point, used only for the engaged service — including submitting contest registrations to the relevant school or test centre — and retained no longer than the service and applicable law require. Contest results are released by the CEMC to registering schools and test centres; we handle them only to pass them to you.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold from a service engagement, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion where the law allows. Raise any of these through the advisor channel and identify the engagement concerned; we will respond within a reasonable period.

Third-party links

Pages link to official sources — cemc.uwaterloo.ca, uwaterloo.ca and others. Their content and privacy practices are their own; this policy covers only this site.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. This site is an independent guide and is not affiliated with the CEMC or the University of Waterloo. ICP filing: 沪ICP备2023003166号-4.
