ADVISORYWhich course fits which writer?∎

Courses are chosen by goal, not by grade

The desk runs Euclid preparation courses for students in Grade 12 and below, organized by proficiency level and taught from self-developed materials. The honest starting question is not “which class?” but “which score?” — beating the world average, clearing the Distinction line, or chasing the 80s and 90s are three different training problems.

2026 reference points: average 52.2 · Distinction from 66 · 80+ ≈ top 6% · 90+ ≈ top 0.5%

Motivated younger students are welcome on the paper — the CEMC says so itself. Eligibility and the two registration routes live in the registration guide.

TIERSHow do the three class tiers differ?∎
20h
Sprint

A focused pass over the paper’s first eight problems — the climb almost every writer can convert. Built for students close to the season aiming to beat the world average and secure the easy marks cleanly. 1-on-1 or small groups of 3–8.

30h
Intensive

The Distinction campaign: systematic topic coverage plus written-solution training, because the marks past the middle of the paper follow the writing. Aimed squarely at the top-25% certificate line — roughly 66 marks in 2026. 1-on-1 or 3–8.

40h
Complete

The full arc for writers chasing 80+ and 90+ — where problems 8–10 decide everything and world averages fall below 2 / 10. Asterisked advanced materials, linked multi-part arguments, and past-paper pressure work. 1-on-1 or 3–8.

The desk’s own curriculum runs in four blocks — number theory, algebra, geometry, combinatorics — sequenced for the Euclid rather than for a school syllabus. It complements, not replaces, the CEMC’s official eight-module preparation material. A trial lesson is available for 9.9 RMB through the advisor.

RECORDWhat has this desk’s training produced?∎

i.
Teacher Zhang · pure mathematics

PhD in Pure Mathematics (University of Rochester), postdoctoral work at Fudan University’s Shanghai Center for Mathematical Sciences; seven years of research and teaching. Reported 2022 Euclid results: four students at 91, 90, 88 and 87.

ii.
Teacher Gao · competition training

Master’s degree from Peking University; national mathematics-contest laureate. Reports roughly three-quarters of Euclid students earning awards, with a highest student score of 94, and double-digit AIME qualifiers in recent AMC seasons.

FAQOn courses and preparation∎
Q.01

Do I need a course to reach Distinction?

Not necessarily — strong students have reached the top 25% on school mathematics and past-paper practice alone. A course earns its keep when time is short, when full-solution writing is the weak link, or when the target is 80+, where the paper stops resembling school work. An honest advisor conversation settles it quickly.

Q.02

What level do the classes assume?

Classes are organized by proficiency level, not by school grade, and serve students in Grade 12 and below. A Grade 10 student with a strong base and a Grade 12 student starting late can both be placed — the placement assessment and an advisor read decide the entry point.

Q.03

How are the Sprint, Intensive and Complete tiers meant to map to scores?

Sprint (20 hours) consolidates the first eight problems — the beat-the-average campaign. Intensive (30 hours) adds systematic topic coverage and solution-writing for the Distinction line. Complete (40 hours) trains the linked hard finishes that separate 80+ and 90+ writers. All run 1-on-1 or in groups of three to eight.

Q.04

Can I try a lesson before committing?

Yes — a trial lesson is available for 9.9 RMB, arranged through the advisor on enterprise WeChat. Pair it with the free placement assessment and you will know within a week whether the format fits, before any full course decision.
